There is no shortage of AI announcements. The harder question is what a business should actually do with them.
I started Business Meets AI to explore that question from the perspective of someone building and connecting business systems. I’m Joshua M. Alexander, founder of JGRobo Marketing, Inc. and a Solutions Director at Retell AI. My interest is in what happens after the demonstration: the enquiry captured, the booking confirmed, the record updated, and the person who can step in when something needs attention.
Start with the work
Before choosing a tool, describe the job. Is your team answering the same questions every day? Are enquiries waiting too long for a response? Does someone spend hours moving information between systems? A specific problem gives you something to evaluate.
Choose one workflow, define what a good result looks like, and decide which situations still need a person. My work in digital marketing began in 1995, and I founded JGRobo Marketing in 2014. Across changes in tools and technology, that practical starting point has remained useful: understand the work before deciding how to improve it.

What you will find here
Business Meets AI covers practical business applications, voice AI, tool evaluation, and agency operations. We are also building out news and video coverage. Each piece should help you make a decision, ask a better question, or take a useful next step.
For business owners, that means looking at implementation, cost, and ownership alongside features. For agencies, it means thinking about how a service will be delivered and supported after the sale. For voice AI, it means examining the conversation and the systems behind it.
Practical AI starts with a business problem.
A useful test for any AI idea
Ask four questions: What problem are we solving? What information does the system need? Who handles exceptions? How will we know whether the result is better?
A short written brief can expose missing assumptions before they become implementation problems. It also gives your team a shared definition of success. An agent that sounds convincing still needs to complete the right action, pass accurate information to the right system, and recover sensibly when it cannot help.

A good place to begin
- Choose your first business AI project: narrow the scope and define what success means.
- Plan a voice AI pilot: prepare the caller journey, integrations, and human handoff.
- Evaluate AI tools beyond the demo: test the complete workflow and count the full cost.
- Package an agency AI service: build the offer around one clear outcome.
The perspective behind the magazine
My experience in marketing automation, CRM integration, custom development, and voice AI shapes this publication. I’ll use that perspective to explore practical decisions and explain where a product feature ends and the implementation work begins.
Clear about our relationships
Business Meets AI is an independent publication from JGRobo Marketing, Inc. My role at Retell AI and my interests in JGRobo Marketing and Action2Call® inform my perspective and will be disclosed where relevant. This is not an official Retell AI publication.
The magazine’s commercial model includes advertising, relevant services, affiliate links, and sponsorships. Readers should be able to understand when a commercial relationship is involved. Our Editorial Standards & Disclosures explain that approach.
This is our opening edition. My aim is to build a magazine you return to when you need to decide where AI belongs in your business and what it will take to make it useful.
